Chemical engineering can be as interesting or as boring as you care to make it but it does offer many challenges and the application of science and opportunities for a fulfilling and sound profession.

 

ARE CHEMICAL ENGINEERS GEEKS?

Yes and No. Normally a chemical engineer needs to have an open outlook and be versatile in approach and thinking and should be of a gregarious nature to make things worthwhile happen. Loners may find life difficult here, as there is much communications required with fellow colleagues and a multitude of other disciplines in the work place.

 

WHAT IS PROCESS ENGINEERING?

If not directly related to chemical reactions eg, reaction kinetics, polymerization chemistry, biochemistry, etc chemical engineers generally work as process engineers where involvement is with physical processes such as separation, flows, mixing, etc. Many are employed as process engineers at some stage of their careers.
